Refer & Earn

The Rival referral program lets organization owners earn passive income by bringing new builders onto the platform. When someone signs up through your referral link and publishes paid tools, you earn a percentage of the revenue those tools generate - indefinitely, up to the annual cap.

How It Works

As an organization owner, you can generate a unique referral link from your workspace settings. Share that link with developers, agencies, or anyone who might want to build on Rival. When someone creates their account through your link, they’re permanently attributed to you as a referral.

From that point on, every time one of their paid tools is executed on the marketplace, you earn 5% of the revenue that execution generates.

The Revenue Split

When a referred builder’s paid tool is run, the credits from that execution are split as follows:

  • 85% goes to the tool creator
  • 10% goes to Rival as a platform fee
  • 5% goes to you, the referrer

Your 5% comes entirely out of Rival’s platform fee. It does not reduce what the tool creator earns. Builders you refer still keep their full 85% share - your earnings don’t come at their expense.

Who Can Participate

The referral program is available to organization owners who have completed phone verification on their account. If you can’t access the Refer & Earn page, check two things: confirm that phone verification is complete in your Workspace Settings, and confirm that you have the Owner role in the organization you’re viewing.

Members and admins cannot generate referral links. If your account has the correct role and verification is complete, access should be available immediately.

Your referral link is generated from Workspace Settings → Refer & Earn. The link follows this format:

cortexone.rival.io/auth/signup?ref=[your-code]

You can share this link anywhere - social media, blog posts, newsletters, direct messages, or developer communities. Anyone who uses it to sign up will be attributed to your account.

Program Rules

The referral program has a few eligibility requirements to keep things fair:

  • Only new users who sign up through your link qualify. Existing Rival accounts are not eligible, even if they click your link later.
  • Attribution happens at the moment of signup. Once someone creates an account through your link, that attribution is permanent and cannot be changed retroactively.
  • Self-referrals are prohibited. You cannot refer yourself or sign up through your own link to earn referral credits.
  • Fake accounts, duplicate accounts, and accounts created specifically to game the referral system are ineligible and may result in removal from the program.

Earnings Cap and Schedule

Referral earnings are capped at $500 per referred user per calendar year. There is no cap on the number of users you can refer - only on how much any single referral can generate in a given year. The cap resets on January 1st.

Earnings are calculated monthly and paid out Net 30 - 30 days after the end of the month in which they were earned. For example, earnings from March would be paid out by the end of April.

Where Your Earnings Go

Referral earnings are deposited into your organization’s wallet, exactly like earnings from your own tools. They appear in your transaction history as referral earnings and are eligible for withdrawal via the standard payout process.
