Agent Marketplace

Overview

The Marketplace is where published Rival Agents (and tools) are listed for the rest of the platform to use. It’s at /marketplace in the Rival app, and it works the same way as the Tools Marketplace - same listing model, same Adopt flow - just filtered to agents.

The Marketplace is open to everyone for browsing. Adopting an agent (which copies it into your org) requires a Rival account.

Browsing

Open /marketplace. The grid shows every published listing - tools and agents mixed together by default.

Filter by Agent type

Use the Type filter in the sidebar to narrow the grid down to agents. From there you can further filter by:

  • Category - multi-select from the shared taxonomy
  • Search - free-text search across name and description
  • Sort - most installed, newest, top-rated

Each card in the agent grid shows the agent’s icon, name, one-line description, latest version, rating, and an Adopt button.

The listing page

Click a card to open the listing. The listing page is what an adopter uses to decide whether your agent is right for them. It includes:

  • The agent’s name, icon, description, and latest version
  • Adopt - copy the agent into your org
  • Trial Chat - try the agent without adopting
  • Required connectors - Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, etc., with a one-line “why we need this”
  • Required tools - list of attached tools and what they’re used for
  • Persona & Guardrails - read-only view of tone, values, and guardrails
  • Changelog - every published version with release notes
  • Reviews - average rating and individual reviews

Trial Chat from the listing

The Marketplace listing has a Trial Chat button that lets you talk to the agent without adopting it first. It’s a preview chat against the agent’s published configuration - quick way to see whether the persona and behavior fit before you commit.

Trial Chat from the listing is meant for a quick taste. To get the full experience - your own memory, your own connectors, your own conversation history - you’ll want to Adopt the agent.

Adopting an agent

Click Adopt on the listing. A confirmation appears, and on confirm:

  1. The listing is copied into your org as a brand-new agent with its own ID.
  2. You’re redirected to the new agent’s editor or chat.
  3. You’re prompted to connect any required connectors the agent needs (Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, etc.).

If you already have an agent with the same name, Rival appends a suffix like (2) so the name stays unique.

What does and doesn’t carry over

Travels with the agentDoesn’t travel
Persona - name, description, tone, valuesOAuth connector grants - connect your own Gmail, Slack, Google Drive, etc.
Persona & GuardrailsConversation history from the publisher
Knowledge sources captured at publish timeMemory built during chats
List of required tools and connectorsThe publisher’s settings or keys

Connectors are the most common surprise - be ready to authorize Gmail, Slack, or Google Drive right after adopting.

Reviews

After you’ve used a Marketplace agent, you can leave a review. Reviews include a 1–5 rating and optional text. Other users can mark reviews as helpful, and the rating is averaged onto the listing card.

Reviews are powerful signals - if you publish an agent, watch for new ones and respond to issues in your next version’s release notes.
