Inviting Members
Invitations are how you bring collaborators into your organization. Once someone accepts an invitation, they become a member and can access the organization at the role you assigned.
Where to send invitations
Invitations are sent from Settings → Members (/user/members). Only Owners and Admins can send invitations.
Sending an invitation
1. Enter their email address
In /user/members, click Invite Member and enter the email address of the person you want to invite. This is the email they’ll use to sign up (or sign in if they already have an account).
2. Assign a default role
Pick the org role to assign on acceptance: Admin or Member. The Owner role cannot be assigned through an invitation - each organization has exactly one Owner, the person who created it. See Roles & Permissions for what each role can do.
If you’re unsure, start with Member. You can promote them to Admin later from /user/members.
3. Send
The recipient receives an email with an accept link. They’ll be prompted to sign up if they don’t have a Rival account yet, or to log in if they do. After accepting, they join your organization at the role you set.
Managing pending invitations
In /user/members, pending invitations are listed separately from active members. From there you can:
- Resend an invitation if the recipient didn’t get it or it expired
- Revoke an invitation that hasn’t been accepted yet
After a member accepts
What the new member can do depends on the role you assigned:
- Admins can manage tools, members, teams, API keys, and secrets right away.
- Members can browse the organization and create their own tools, but they don’t automatically get access to other members’ tools. The usual next step is to add them to a team or assign them to a specific tool with an Editor, Executor, or Viewer role.
Managing existing members
Change a member’s org role
Any Owner or Admin can change a member’s org role at any time from /user/members. Changes take effect immediately.
Remove a member
Owners and Admins can remove members from /user/members. Removing a member revokes all their access - org-level, tool-level, and team assignments.
