Inviting Members

Invitations are how you bring collaborators into your organization. Once someone accepts an invitation, they become a member and can access the workspace according to the role you assigned them.

Where to send invitations

Invitations are sent from Workspace Settings → Members. Only owners and admins can send invitations.

How to invite someone

Enter their email address

In Workspace Settings → Members, enter the email address of the person you want to invite. This must be the email they’ll use to create or log into their Rival account.

Choose their role

Select the role you want to assign them: Member or Admin. The Owner role cannot be assigned through an invitation - there is exactly one owner per organization, and that is the person who created it.

If you’re unsure which role to assign, start with Member. You can always promote them to Admin later from Workspace Settings → Members.

Send the invitation

Once you send the invitation, the person receives an email with a link to accept it. They’ll be prompted to create a Rival account if they don’t already have one, or to log in if they do.

After a member accepts

Once the invitation is accepted, the new member can log in and access the organization. What they can do depends on their role:

Admins can manage tools, members, teams, and workspace settings right away.

Members with the Member role have limited default access - they can see the organization exists but cannot access any tools until they’re explicitly assigned to one. After inviting a Member, the next step is usually to add them to a team or assign them to specific tools with a tool role (Executor or Viewer).

Managing existing members

Changing a member’s role

Any owner or admin can change a member’s org role at any time from Workspace Settings → Members. Changes take effect immediately.

Removing a member

Owners and admins can remove members from the organization from Workspace Settings → Members. Removing a member revokes all their access, including any tool or team assignments they had.
