Payout Methods
To get paid, connect a payout provider - Stripe or PayPal - on the Payouts tab. Once a method is connected, scheduled Payouts are sent to whichever provider you set as the default.
Where to configure
- Open Settings → Billing at cortexone.rival.io/user/billings
- Select the Payouts tab (
/user/billings?tab=payouts)
You’ll see a Stripe card and a PayPal card, each with a status chip (Connected or Not connected). Once at least one provider is connected, a Default Payout Method selector appears above the cards.
Connect Stripe
Stripe uses Stripe Connect - Stripe collects your identity and bank details directly and deposits payouts to your bank account.
- On the Stripe card, click Connect Stripe.
- You’re redirected to Stripe’s onboarding. Enter your identity and bank/payout details and complete any verification (KYC) Stripe requires.
- When onboarding finishes, the card shows Connected along with your Stripe account ID (for example,
acct_1T6R6nAFl9c17xLA).
If verification is still pending, the account stays unconnected until you finish the steps Stripe asks for. To switch to a different bank account, re-run the Stripe onboarding.
Connect PayPal
- On the PayPal card, click Connect PayPal.
- Sign in with PayPal and provide the email address associated with your PayPal account.
- Once linked, the card shows Connected with that email. Payouts are sent to it.
To use a different PayPal account later, click Change account on the PayPal card and enter the new email.
Choose your default payout method
When both providers are connected, use the Default Payout Method dropdown to pick Stripe or PayPal. Only the default method receives your scheduled disbursements; the other stays connected but idle until you switch.
After connecting
- Payouts run automatically on the Payouts schedule (Net 30) - you don’t trigger them manually.
- Payout history for the active provider appears below the cards (for example, PayPal Payouts), showing “No payout recorded yet” until your first disbursement.
- Provider minimums and KYC apply. If your available balance is below the provider’s minimum, the payout rolls into the next cycle.
