Notifications

Rival sends a notification when something happens that you should know about - a new review on one of your tools, a tool you depend on being deprecated, a low wallet balance, an invitation accepted.

Where notifications appear

Notifications surface in four places:

  • Bell icon in the left sidebar bottom strip - opens the notification center with a count badge for unread items.
  • Toast popups - appear in-app when an event fires while you’re online.
  • Notifications page (/user/notifications) - the full history.
  • Emails - if you have set a preference for notifications to be sent via email.

Sample messages

Notifications use plain language. A few examples:

  • “Version 1.2.0 of ‘Image Upscaler’ was approved and is live on the marketplace.”
  • “New review on ‘Image Upscaler’ from Ava.”
  • user@example.com accepted your invitation to join Acme.”
  • “Your wallet balance is below $1. Please top up.”
  • “‘Image Upscaler’ is deprecated and will be removed on June 5, 2026.”
  • “‘Image Upscaler’ has crossed 1,000 runs.”
  • “API key ‘Production Key’ expires in 2 days.”

Most notifications deep-link to the relevant page - clicking a review notification opens the review, a low-balance notification opens your wallet, and so on.
